Established in 1979, Rand Taxing Consultants have been at the forefront of the Legal Costs industry in South Africa.  

Stan Friedlander, one of South Africa's longest standing and most respected Costs Consultants runs the Johannesburg Office situated close to the South Gauteng High Court where he enjoys a fine reputation as a fair and knowledgeable negotiator.  In addition to his role as an industry leader in preparing, opposing and taxing Bills of Costs, Stan is regularly employed as a Taxing Master by the Abitration Foundation of Southern Africa.

After 5 years practicing in Johannesburg, Kevin Friedlander spent a decade in London where he specialised in complex, high value Civil and Criminal Litigation.  In his 10 years in the United Kingdom he prepared some of the largest Bills of Costs in UK Legal History and oversaw the Costs Management of two Government Inquiries, regularly attending lengthy detailed assessment hearings at the Senior Court Costs Office and the House of Lords.

Upon his return to South Africa, Kevin opened the Cape Town branch of Rand Taxing Consultants which which continues to be one of the fastest growing firms of Costs Consultants in the country attending to the Legal Costs needs of Attorneys throughout the Cape and in Kwazulu-Natal.

• 10 years in London:
  Specialised in complex, high value Civil and Criminal Litigation.
  Prepared some of the largest Bills of Costs in UK Legal History and oversaw the Costs Management of two Government Inquiries.
  Was a Fellow of the Association of Law Costs Draftsman (today referred to as a Costs Lawyer) with right of appearance in the Senior Courts Costs Office at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.
